A.  Typically, your pharmacy will contact us on your behalf. Refills can also be requested by phone or through My Health Online
A.  There is a GI specialist on duty 24 hours a day. You can contact him/her by calling our office number directly 650-685-6105.
If our office is closed and you need to be seen immediately, please contact the San Mateo Urgent Care Center at (650) 696-4427.
If it is an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
A.  Your procedure will be performed at the Mid Peninsula Endoscopy Center, located at 1720 El Camino Real, Suite 100, Burlingame, CA 94010.
More complex procedures or any procedure requiring general anesthesia will be performed at Mills Peninsula Medical Center, located at 1501 Trousdale Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010.
Capsule Endoscopies are performed in my office.
A.  Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing
A.  The stool should be watery in consistency. It does not have to be clear. A yellowish tint liquid and small flecks of debris are not a problem as long as the stool is not thick. If there is any question, you can check with the nurse on arrival for the procedure.
A.  The medication is expected to cause diarrhea. Some mild abdominal cramping and/or bloating may occur, as well as some nausea and vomiting. This is temporary and symptoms will gradually improve after evacuation of bowels. Weakness or headache can also occur, if you are not well hydrated or have not taken enough fluid with the preparation. Increase your fluid intake (especially with Gatorade, Chicken broth).
